‘You still have a piece of them’: Toddler survives fatal car crash that killed parents

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Last week, a head-on car accident on the Parks Highway resulted in the deaths of Fairbanks residents Sasha Hart, aged 38, and her husband David Hart, aged 41. Alaska State Troopers report that the couple was involved in the crash near Trapper Creek. Their two-year-old daughter, Paige, was also in the vehicle and survived the incident.

Shery Elterman-Hart, David Hart’s sister, expressed gratitude for Paige’s survival while holding her during an interview with Alaska’s News Source. The Hart family noted that Sasha and David had recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary and had built a life together in Fairbanks, blending their cultural backgrounds. Katie Ragsdale, another sister of David, shared that Paige reflects traits from both parents, saying, ‘You still have a piece of them, a living piece of them still on Earth.’ Fortunately, Paige is recovering quickly after sustaining six broken bones from the crash.
