FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTUU/KTVF) – After a two-year wait following the start of construction, the northernmost Raising Cane’s location has officially opened its doors in Fairbanks. The launch celebration kicked off Tuesday morning, attended by local elected officials, representatives from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and state champions from area high schools who participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Customers lined up ahead of the opening, with the first order served approximately 40 minutes after the event began. Some fans showcased their dedication by arriving as early as 5:00 a.m. Customer Brayden Shaffer mentioned seeing others waiting before 7:30 a.m., while Noah Von Dauber, who has roots in Florida, expressed excitement about having a taste of home with Raising Cane’s now available in the area.
Levi Ben-Israel, the area leader of restaurants for Raising Cane’s in Alaska, highlighted the company’s commitment to quality, stating they ensure everything is perfectly aligned before opening. He referenced the founder, Todd Graves, and the personal connections to Alaska through his past salmon fishing experiences. Notably, the Fairbanks location is internally called “the North Star,” reflecting a standard the company aims to uphold in terms of service. The restaurant also incorporates elements celebrating Fairbanks’ history as part of its community engagement efforts.
