(Anchorage, AK) – On October 22, 2026, Christopher Sture was convicted by an Anchorage jury on two counts of Murder in the Second Degree in the case of State of Alaska v. Christopher Sture. The jury deliberations began on the afternoon of October 21, 2026, following the start of the trial on September 28, 2026.
The charges relate to an incident on October 27, 2022, when Sture was alone with L.M., the two-year-old son of his live-in partner. L.M. was taken to the hospital after his mother discovered him unconscious with seizure-like symptoms. Medical evidence indicated that L.M. had suffered abusive head trauma from shaking or blunt force, and he was declared dead on November 1, 2022. Evidence presented during the trial included multiple bruises and injuries on L.M. that suggested a pattern of ongoing abuse. Retired Judge William Morse oversaw the case, and Sture faces a potential 15-99 year sentence, with sentencing scheduled for February 3, 2027.
