ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – President Trump has shown strong opposition to Petersburg’s Dan Sullivan, who is vying for a Senate position under the same name as the current senator. On social media, Trump suggested that the administration is looking into strong legal measures to eliminate what he calls the ‘fraudulent’ candidacy of Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., emphasizing accountability for what he deems election interference.

As Alaskans already cast their votes, questions remain as to whether it is feasible to remove a candidate from the ballot at this stage. The Alaska Elections Division has not responded to inquiries on this matter. While Trump and Republican entities assert links between the Petersburg Sullivan and the Democratic Party, independent fact-checkers have found no direct evidence of coordination. Amber Lee, a consultant with past Democratic affiliations, has been noted as a point of contention, although the 907 Initiative clarified that they had no direct involvement in Dan J. Sullivan’s campaign.

Following a decision by the State Supreme Court that reinstated him to the ballot, the Petersburg Sullivan has not addressed the allegations of Democratic recruitment. Trump’s claims raise questions regarding potential investigations, although the U.S. Attorney General is non-committal. Recently, primary election results indicated that Dan S. Sullivan is trailing behind Democratic candidate Mary Peltola, prompting concern from the president regarding the implications for the upcoming race.
